Preparing Our Broken Hearts for
Yom Kippur
An Or HaLev Virtual Silent Meditation Retreat
Sunday, September 28 - Monday, September 29, 2025
Is your heart ready for the big reset of Yom Kippur?
Yom Kippur is an opportunity for extraordinarily deep and transformative practice if,
and only if, our hearts are ready. In this retreat, we will begin the transformation of our hearts, bodies, minds and souls through practice, reflection and exploration grounded in Jewish mindfulness practice.
The days in between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are a potent and particular window for the spiritual practice we need, especially in the unpredictability and deep pain of the times we’re living through. Amid it all, this retreat provides tools, space, and guidance for allowing this sacred period in the Jewish calendar to reveal what has been covered over: the inherent ease, peace, clarity and love which are sometimes forgotten, but always within reach.
During this retreat, you will engage in concrete practices of:
Finding safety, centeredness, gentleness and ease
Deep forgiveness
Loving soul-searching and transformation of harmful patterns
Returning to your true selves
Cultivating abiding and liberating joy
This retreat will include
Silence
Using the vehicle of silence and mindfulness, we will pause to reflect, rebalance and access our deep wisdom
Guided Meditation
Daily instruction in meditation guides both beginners & advanced practitioners into the sacred space of the retreat process
Teachings
Daily teachings related to Yom Kippur, times for Q&A, small groups with the teachers
Chanting and prayer
The retreat includes daily periods of prayer and chanting
