Or HaLev is a Jewish Path to a more vibrant, whole and awakened life through mindfulness and innovative Jewish practice.
Find grounding and centering with the Or HaLev Community
Join our Open Meditation group
led by Rabbi Dr. James Jacobson-Maisels to open the doorway to a world where mindfulness and Jewish practice are entwined.
Or HaLev offers a range of classes, retreats, and other opportunities to engage in deep spiritual practice that can heal and transform you in a way that is deeply rooted in Jewish tradition.
Retreats
Retreat is the deepest form of mindfulness practice; enabling us to get quiet and still in a way that the busyness of daily life doesn’t support. We provide both virtual and in-person retreats so anyone can join.
Classes
Or HaLev offers virtual and in-person classes on mindfulness from Jewish sources, as well as regular meditation groups to help you strengthen your practice and connect with your community.
Resources
Here you can find a treasure chest of guided meditations, meditation talks, Torah commentary, articles and chant recordings to replenish your well whenever it is running dry.
Rav James: How Jewish Meditation Transformed My Life
Rabbi Dr. James Jacobson-Maisels, Founder & Spiritual Director of Or HaLev, shares how he first encountered meditation and how the practice has impacted his life.
What would it mean for people to live their Jewish lives in a way that was transformative for them, and for the world?
Listen to Rav James on “Israel from the Inside with Daniel Gordis”
“When we wish to take this great step from the lowliness of separation to the work of mindfulness, we simply need to bring forth and reveal within ourselves a new and strong mindfulness, and to exercise it - just as we bring forth a child’s ability to walk by practice.”
— Rabbi Kalonymous Kalman Shapira (the Piaseczna Rebbe)
Make a donation.
Or HaLev is run entirely on donations. Everything we offer - retreats, Jewish teachings, mindfulness resources, and a welcoming, growing and loving community - is only possible thanks to the continued support of those who believe in what we do. If you value what Or HaLev is bringing to the world; an approach to mindfulness that is wholly Jewish, please consider donating to our organization. Any amount will directly support this healing and transformative spiritual practice.
