What a time.

How many of you have experienced some overwhelm recently? Fear? Stress? Apathy? Longings to be able to breathe more deeply? To feel safe and at ease again?

It’s been quite a time for most Jews these last months, with October 7 and the ensuing war stirring up intense feelings and for many rousing intergenerational and collective trauma layers.

In this series we’ll meet once a month to make space for what’s been moving - or frozen - in us, to learn and practice trauma-informed practices that can help us find more steadiness amidst turbulent times.

Drawing on approaches from mindfulness meditation and trauma therapy with inspiration from Jewish sources, we will explore the heart qualities and skillful means that will enable us to heal and feel more in touch with our aliveness.

In each session, we will investigate these questions, and more:

-
What does it feel like to give space to that which is alive within us without it being overwhelming?

- How and where do we find ground in tumultuous times?

- What different practice options can we turn to that bring stability or expand our vessel?

- How can we practice together to find more capacity and resource?

You will leave this course having explored:

  • Giving space to what is alive within.

  • Ways to meet emotions without overwhelm.

  • Trauma-informed practices to allow greater ease in being with what is.

  • What it feels like to come in contact with life.

  • Intentional approaches to touching different textures of aliveness

To support you in developing a rhythm of consistent and supportive practice, you will be given guided meditations and practice instructions for the time between sessions.

This course will speak to anyone looking to find steadiness and greater spaciousness within collectively challenging times.
