May 20-23, 2024

Ramah in the Berkshires, Wingdale, NY

Workshop Series: Wednesdays May 1, 8, 15, 29, June 5, 19, 2024
At 4-5:30pm PT / 6-7:30pm CT / 7-8:30pm ET // On Zoom

The Jewish community has great need for resilient spiritual leadership through these uncertain and tumultuous times. How do we rise to the challenge?

Join us for a four-day in-person meditation retreat and six session exclusive online series designed to support Jewish community leaders in navigating challenges, particularly in these turbulent times. The workshops and retreat will offer a variety of specific practices, frameworks, and techniques from Jewish spirituality and meditation that can transform the way we show up to support ourselves and our communities.

The retreat will be held mostly in silence, involving sustained meditation practice along with times for chanting and prayer, instruction, and check-ins with teachers. The workshops on either side of the retreat are designed to give participants a deeper and more integrated understanding of the practices and frameworks, as well as the opportunity to connect with other Jewish leaders from across North America. Participants will be invited to start or continue a daily meditation practice during the course of this series, with specific formal and informal meditation instructions given each week.

This series is designed for beginner and advanced meditation practitioners alike.

“Or HaLev has touched me deeply. It’s one of the few experiences I think everyone should have, regardless of whether they think they’re interested in meditation. Deepening my understanding and practice of mindfulness has been transformational in my relationships and work. Life is richer, textured, and less frenzied. I was nervous going into retreat and felt forever changed as I left. Five years later, the lasting effects continue.”

-Rabbi Aaron Lerner, CEO, Jewish Community Foundation of LA

“It's difficult to overstate the impact that Or HaLev retreats have had on my spiritual and emotional well-being. Each time I attend, I feel a sense of deep reset, connecting to aspects of myself and my experience that often get drowned out by the challenges of daily life. I highly recommend attending.”

-Rabbi Jason Kimelman-Block, Washington Director, Bend the Arc: Jewish Action
